A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs a variety of tasks to provide basic care and support to patients:
Daily living activities: Help patients with activities like eating, bathing, dressing, and grooming
Vital signs: Record and monitor vital signs like blood pressure and heart rate
Nutrition: Measure and record dietary intake, and help ensure patients' nutritional needs are met
Safety: Ensure safety protocols and procedures are followed, and apply professional ethics
Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize patient areas, including rooms and bed linens
Transportation: Transport patients
Communication: Answer patient calls, communicate patient questions and concerns to nurses, and respond to common inquiries and complaints
Documentation: Document information
Supplies: Gather medical supplies and stock supplies
Wounds: Take care of wounds
Emergency situations: Perform immediate and temporary interventions in emergency situations
