The Specialist, Staffing & Recruitment reports to the Director, Human Resources and is responsible for full-cycle recruitment & staffing of team members across the entire organization from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring great employees. A successful candidate will be able to take direction from the Director, Human Resources and regularly collaborate with functional Operations and Maintenance leaders to creatively source and fill open positions. He or she should also be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals. Our ideal Specialist, Staffing & Recruitment holds an HR background combined with work experience in attracting, screening, interviewing, and assessing candidates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Support regional, community, and corporate managers in hiring team members
  • Write, maintain, and update job descriptions & specifications for all positions across the organization
  • Proactively sourcing and attracting candidates by using Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications by conducting phone screening and filtering candidates for open positions
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate community job boards/newspapers/colleges
  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
  • Continuously learn, monitor and apply HR staffing & recruitment best practices
  • Provide analytical and well documented recruiting reports to the Director, Human Resources
  • Hands-on experience with selection processes (phone screens, reference checks, and background checks)
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the recruitment & selection process
  • Select, partner, and engage with representatives from employment agencies
  • Review applicants, make initial contact, conduct interviews, and present top applicants for a particular position to managers
  • Manage the entire background check process using an external vendor (Good Hire) through the extension of conditional job offer
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Assist IT Manager in maintaining current job openings on company websites
  • Ability to organize & administer behavioral assessments & skills assessments

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or Sociology (Preferred)
  • If possess a Bachelor’s degree from another field, PHR certification is required
  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Related Area (Preferred)
  • 2+ years of multi-family experience (Required)
  • 2+ years of staffing & recruitment experience (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and Google Suite (Required)
  • Proficient with using HRIS & applicant tracking software (Required)
