Accounting Supervisor

As the Accounting Supervisor, you will be supervising accounting operations, supported by a team of 2 - 4 direct reports. Reporting to the Director, Finance, you will be highly valued team member that collaborates across all departments, lines of business and regions. You will apply your expertise in accounting, business processes and internal controls to help all Rodan teams operate seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily accounting operations of Rodan and its subsidiaries, with a focus on accounts payable and month end close activities.
- Supervise and coach the accounting operations team, including planning work activities, reviewing key outputs, and coordinating cross-training.
- Prepare complex journal entries, including accruals and intercompany entries.
- Prepare key accounting outputs such as sales tax filings and account reconciliations.
- Review accounts payable details, coordinate bill coding and payment runs.
- Administer the AI-enabled accounts payable system and manage related automated and manual processes.
- Lead cost control for the company, including reviewing actual spending vs. budgets, maintaining policies on purchase approvals, and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Support the administration of the QuickBooks Desktop and Online financial systems, maintaining charts of accounts and other master data.
- Develop, maintain and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ASPE and strong internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation.
- Support and lead special projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Senior Accountant or Junior Manager or a similar role.
- 3+ years of combined experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Qualified or pursuing a Canadian CPA and knowledgeable of ASPE and/or IFRS standards.
- Intermediate or higher Excel skills and experience using Excel for analysis.
- Strong experience with accounting software and systems, such as acting in administrator or super-user roles, and including QuickBooks and Salesforce.
- Experience working across departments to drive process improvement and automation.

This is a flexible hybrid role where you are required to work both remotely and in person depending on business needs. You will be required to work at our Corporate HQ office in Mississauga a minimum of 2 days per week in addition to attending and participating in workshops, projects, or team meetings.
