Job Description

The EP Certification team is responsible for reviewing and approving applications for EP Certification, Board and Committee management, program improvement initiatives and member community management/building. As a key member of the team, the Program Coordinator for the Certification department will be responsible for key program administrative duties involved in the EP Certification program and providing first class customer service to ECO Canada’s certified applicants and members.

While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of his/her ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required. 

Responsibilities

In general, the duties of the Program Coordinator for the Certification department will include processing individual and employer applications for certification, monitoring member maintenance requirements, and collaboratively working to advance the reputation and recognition of the EP suite of designations.

The Program Coordinator for the Certification department will assist the EP Certification Team with the accomplishment of a variety of tasks and initiatives, including but not limited to:

Administration and Applicant Process Management

  • Becoming an expert in the customer relationship management system that tracks applicant and existing member activities.
  • Scheduling and supporting certification exams with occasional requirement to be called upon to act as examination proctor.
  • Supporting and encouraging certification applicants through the process via telephone, e-mail and virtual support.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with ECO Canada’s post-secondary Accreditation team to increase awareness of both student and junior professional certification streams. This includes administering the student certification and conversion of these students to full members post-graduation.
  • Maintain a high-level of professionalism and work to establish a positive rapport with every contact.
  • Support with new member package printing and mailing on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain collateral inventory and organization.

Member Support and Maintenance

  • Review and provide support to members on annual and 5-year term maintenance requirements.
  • Responsibility for the administration of the member surveillance process.
  • Participate in special projects related to future program enhancements.
  • Support the internal member awards steering committee by encouraging member nominations via outreach and assume management of the judging panel volunteers.

Reporting

  • Maintain dashboard of applicant and member traffic and conversions. 
  • Ensure pipeline conversion targets are maintained/find ways to meet or exceed these targets.
  • Support with quarterly and ad-hoc Board and Committee reports and meetings.

Qualifications and Education

  • Graduate of a post-secondary degree or diploma at a university or college level.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with strong emphasis on written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Dynamics, as well as general computer skills including file management and data entry.
  • Occasional travel required for this position.
  • Great attitude and ability to maintain control while coordinating activities and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional time-management, organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Well-developed, independent work ethic along with ability to communicate with the team and external parties.

Fluency in French and some experience in a suitable field, such as environmental industry, management, administration, client management and relations, etc. will be considered assets.
