Building Maintenance Worker
Join our team as a Building Maintenance Worker, where you'll play an important role in keeping our facilities safe, clean, and operating at their best. We're looking for a hands-on, dependable team member with a positive attitude who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in maintaining a first-class facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility and grounds.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facility during operating hours.
- Monitor the facility for safety and security concerns and respond appropriately.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and building equipment.
- Perform routine grounds maintenance, including lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, ice control, and exterior property upkeep.
- Assist with setting up and tearing down rooms and equipment for special events.
- Assist with snow removal and other seasonal grounds maintenance as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, maintenance logs, and related documentation.
- Complete hazard assessments and comply with all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of building maintenance experience; experience maintaining recreational or commercial facilities is considered an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with basic repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Experience or knowledge of pool operations, ice arena facilities, and recreational building systems is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's License.
- Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation.
- Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Availability
for:
- Day shift 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Evening shift 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., including weekends.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check will be required.
