About Working on a “Floatel”
LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650 passenger “Floatel”. The Floatel will be permanently docked in Squamish, B.C. and is estimated to operate for up to three years. All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.
Individuals who do not have the required marine safety certifications (see details below) will be required to attend a 5 – 10-day marine safety program. LandSea covers the costs of training, however, crew who do not complete minimum employment contracts are responsible to repay part of all the training costs.
At work, the crew are provided with accommodation, full meals, WIFI and can access health/gym facilities they can access when off work. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from locations. Excellent Health and Wellness benefits are offered after three months
About the Opportunity
We currently have an opening for a Clerk-Storekeeper.
Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, the Clerk-Storekeeper contributes to the efficient day-to-day operations of a workforce vessel by supporting the work of management and performing other administrative duties as required. The Clerk-Storekeeper also provides support to the vessel store, providing support with inventory, display, restocking, cleaning, customer service and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Hospitality Manager to coordinate with head office and clients to ensure smooth operation of vessel.
Communicate with custodial, maintenance and catering operations at the camp, as needed
Support the Camp Manager to communicate with Client regarding vessel numbers, quantities & ordering
Be available during vessel office hours to address residents’ needs and concerns promptly and effectively
Perform check-ins and check-outs, and orient new vessel residents
Keep keys always organized
Document and update vessel occupancy and reservations daily
Print daily housekeeping and occupancy reports for the Hospitality Manager and/or Housekeeping Supervisor
Produce accurate weekly Manday Reports for billing submission
Organize, dust, sweep and mop vessel office and store daily
Provide support to clients in store including customer service and sales
Provide support to store with inventory, restocking, loss management, displays, point of sales and daily reconciliations
Provide daily sales and revenue reports to Hospitality Manager for store as needed
Assist with other administrative, storekeeping duties as required
Practice safe work procedures and rectify or report any safety hazards immediately
Ensure workspace is clean and always organized
Maintain professional appearance and conduct always
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years successful experience in a workforce camp or hotel environment in an administrative role
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, SharePoint, Camp Management Software experience an asset
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Speak, read, and write English
Completion of post-secondary education in related area
Team player and supports, motivates, and encourages others
Excellent attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills
Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently and in a team environment
Work safely and responsibly
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods of time
Repeat the same movements including fast, repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
Use muscles to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 25 lbs.
Use hands to handle objects and tools
Willingness to travel often
