We are currently seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role will be based out of our corporate office in Vancouver and will report to the Sr. Director of Human Resources. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about people, loves a challenge and is looking to grow their career in HR.

Day in the Life:

This role will have a number of accountabilities, including but not exclusive, to those listed below:

  • HR & Payroll administration for multiple departments & divisions within the GSL portfolio
  • Data Entry, forms & systems management, and tracking (attendance, vacation, etc.)
  • Benefits administration (benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations; reconciling monthly 
  • benefits statements)
  • Completing payroll reports, reconciling month-end and year-end accounts
  • Assisting in preparation of ROEs, T4s and other related forms
  • Processing new hire paperwork, terminations, pay changes, and other employment changes
  • Answering hr and payroll related inquiries for employees and managers
  • Focusing on continuous improvement - looking for ways to improve efficiencies in hr processes and payroll processing
  • Assist in establishing best practices for HR & Payroll 
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned

You Own This if You Have:

  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Payworks)
  • Although not required, PCP certification or working towards it, is a definite asset
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with full-cycle payroll administration, processing hourly and 
  • salaried payroll
  • Familiarity with BC ESA, Worksafe, CRA requirements a must
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate payroll processing during statutory holidays etc.
