This summer position will provide a fun and safe atmosphere for all children participating in the Moonlight Kids recreation program. Children’s Activities Summer Instructors will be part of a new and quickly growing program providing place-based learning in Montana’s natural mountainous classroom to “mini members” in fun and active ways!


·         Lead and/or team teach activities focused on environmental education and summer recreation in a camp setting.

·         Design and implement lessons and games focus around environmental and natural sciences specific to the Rocky Mountain ecosystems using the approved curriculum resources.

·         Responsible for safety and security of all children participating in programs and activities.

·         Responsible for programs daily setup and clean up.

·         Attend all required and necessary staff trainings and professional development events.

·         Maintain relationships and communication with families, coworkers, and management.




·         Background in informal and experiential learning, outdoor recreation, or natural sciences.

·         Undergraduate degree preferred, in process of earning, or combination of experience and education.

·         Enthusiasm for working with kids ages 5-12

·         Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

·         Current CPR/ First Aid Certified (or ability to obtain). Wilderness First Aid preferred.

·         Available to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.

·         Commit to working the full summer season June through August. Training begins in late May.


Work tasks are performed mostly outdoors. Must be able to work in all-weather events specific to high mountain environments including, but not limited to, extreme heat and rain.

·         Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.

·         Must be able to carry a backpack with safety equipment, necessary gear, and teaching materials.  

·         Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Resort on a timely basis.

·         Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.

·         Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

·         Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
