The Coordinator of Tutoring assists undergraduate day and ACCESS students who are in need of academic support services through tutorial sessions, offering programming for enhanced learning in individual courses, as well as for long-term success across the curriculum. This position provides supervision, coordination, and budgetary oversight for the Professional and Peer Tutoring Program through the training, assigning, monitoring, and evaluation of tutors and tutorial services, including in-person and online services for traditional day, ACCESS, and graduate students. This person also contributes expertise in the aforementioned areas to specific Academic Success Center programs such as the Gateway To Success Summer Program and a variety of workshops. Additionally, the position supports the center’s mission and goals by maintaining a social media presence, marketing programs and services, assisting with first-year student course registration, and managing payroll budget requisitions for peer and professional tutors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or another appropriate field; Master’s strongly preferred
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in learning support services at the secondary or college level preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for helping students to achieve academic success
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with a variety of state and federal laws, guidelines, and regulations
  • Schedule requires occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability, and diversity
