Mortgage Loan Processor
Role (NOT REMOTE)
The primary purpose of the Mortgage Loan Processor is to assist Beacon Credit Union to live out our mission, "Dedicated to our Members Financial Success."
Assists the mortgage loan process by performing all related processing activities and duties. Receives, evaluates and reviews all loan applications. Obtains and verifies necessary information and prepares documents for underwriting and closing review. initiates orders for credit reports, appraisals, title orders, flood zone certifications, and other such orders as needed. Obtains proof of insurance as required on mortgage loans. Assists or refers members as needed. All duties are performed in accordance with the company's policy and procedures and maintain compliance with pertinent regulatory requirements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares orders to vendors for credit reports, appraisal, title orders, flood zone certifications and authorizations to close and any other document orders as needed.
Prepares and sets up preliminary loan folders. Issues initial loan disclosures after the files have been reviewed by an underwriter or mortgage loan officer for each loan put into process. Updated loan folder information to reflect accurate data for the final review. Prepares commitment letters and adverse action notices as requested.
Interacts with members and borrowers to answer questions on loan qualification process. Tracks and prepares reports on all new loan application submissions, referrals and leads. Promotes all Beacon Credit Union products and services. Daily communication with borrower to inform of any updates or additional information needed for the Mortgage Loan Process.
Performs and assists all necessary third-party origination processes as needed or requested. Understands and updates Floify system.
Initiates pre-quality control and post-quality control orders for review.
Performs mortgage servicing roles in a back up capacity on an as needed basis. Will remain updated on all processes related to the mortgage servicing position. Supports co-workers and other departments as needed or requested.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Safe Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Provides excellent internal and external customer service.
Knowledge and Skills
ExperienceHas experience with different types of mortgage loans, escrow and ARM requirements.
Education/Certifications/LicensesHigh School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Valid Drivers License.
NMLS/MLO number required
Great organization and communication skills. Computer skills a must.
