Cash Casinos and ACE Casino were recently acquired by a new ownership group and is undertaking a transformation and modernization of its Casino businesses located in Calgary and Red Deer. We are an Alberta-based, family-owned business looking to grow our Casino’s leadership team. Our current locations include Cash Casino Calgary, Cash Casino Red Deer and ACE Casino Calgary.  Plans are underway for the construction of a brand-new facility by the Calgary Airport.

 

The Position

This is a great opportunity to join Cash Casino and ACE Casino as the Surveillance Manager.  The position is based in Calgary and supports Cash and ACE Casinos. 

The Surveillance Manager will report directly to the General Manager.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions, and informing their supervisor or the Safety Committee of unsafe conditions, as directed.
  • Manages and directs surveillance staff in the use of electronic video surveillance systems in order to observe and monitor customers and team members for any violations of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission or Company policies and procedures, reports violations as required, and insurers for the safety and security of all customers and team members.
  • Managers the monitoring of two-way radio communications with team members and ensures prompt responses for security or emergency assistance.
  • Managers and develops effective staff hires, trains, schedules, rewards, and disciplines staff. Develops staff to meet and exceed performance expectations by establishing and maintaining positive work morale, and effective employee relations. Managers and conducts performance reviews in accordance with company policies and procedures. Manages subordinates and surveillance operations.
  • Performs duties in compliance with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
  • Manages surveillance in performing incident investigations by reviewing and analyzing video recordings, and reports findings to management staff, as directed. Works with Security personnel during investigations of incidents, accidents, work-related injuries, and thefts to determine and identify evidence through video review.
  • Designs, bids, install and maintain physical surveillance systems by moving, adding, and recording cameras, and switching equipment to conform to the Alberta Gaming Laws.
  • Ensures the technical training of surveillance staff.
  • Manages and controls the surveillance budget within budgetary limits.
  • Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and prior to taking an action, exercises caution, and evaluates circumstances for appropriate security or safety response. Seeks supervision and guidance from the General Manager, as needed or directed.
  • Establish policies and procedures for surveillance in accordance with gaming rules, regulations, and General Manager.
  • Manages compliance to establish surveillance protocols, ensures casinos’ work environments are safe in compliance with Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
  • Supports in Technical Programming of Camera System and Working on Minor Repairs of Cameras
  • Cover and record morning slot pull and count.
  • AML Administrator-Entering all PTR reports.
  • Covering and recording all incidents inside and outside the Casino.
  • Cover and record all suspicious activities.
  • All other duties, including special projects, as assigned.

 Qualifications and skills:

  • Maintain valid AGLC license and pass criminal record check.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of casino operations and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission Terms and Conditions.
  • Demonstrates effective and diplomatic customer service and communication skills, which includes contracts with staff members, customers, and members of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, and other regulatory officials.
  • Must have patience with the ability to remain alert at all times.
  • Must be able to work in a small semi-lit environment.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail with the ability to gather knowledge of all operating departments’ policies and procedures.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively to verbalize incidents and daily happenings along with strong reading and writing skills for detailed and accurate reporting purposes.
  • Good memory is essential with the ability to respond appropriately and in a timely manner in emergency situations.
  • Aptitude for accuracy and detail in their work.
