THE ROLE: SENIOR FINANCIAL REPORTING SPECIALIST

CubicFarms is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Specialist to join its financial reporting team.  Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Senior Financial Reporting Specialist is a technical expert with experience in public company financial reporting.   The successful candidate will be responsible for the internal and external financial and management reporting of the parent company and subsidiaries.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

·       Bachelor's degree in Accounting

·       Completion of professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:

·       In depth knowledge of and experience with IFRS and financial reporting

·       Knowledge of Disclosure Controls and Procedures (DC&P) and Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR)

·       3+ years auditing of public companies, or public company financial reporting experience

·       Extensive knowledge of Excel and proficient with MS Office

·       Accounting software knowledge, Netsuite or MS Dynamics is an asset

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills, initiative, and ability to multi-task

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

·         Preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, including note disclosures, working papers, and MD&A

·         Preparation of monthly internal management reports, analysis, and commentary

·         Research and determine the appropriate IFRS accounting treatment for complex transactions and emerging areas, including preparation of accounting memos

·         Implementation and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting

·         Perform continuous assessment of the close process and identify methods to reduce the time to close the financial period

·         Participate in special projects/ad-hoc reporting as requested
