The Restaurant Barback is responsible for keeping bartenders supplied with ice, mixers, liquor and beer as well as clean glassware. 

Essential Functions

  1. Assists with opening and closing duties, such as restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc. 

  1. Ensures the bar is well stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer. 

  1. Keeps the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles. 

  1. Ability to learn about menu items ad memorizing cocktail recipes. 

  1. Take orders, prepare drinks, bus tables, open tabs, and process payments during busy peak hours. 

  1. Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times. Make guests feel appreciated through barback’s actions. 

  1. Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks. 

  1. Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential. 

  1. All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations. 

  1. Performs other duties as directed.

Work Environment 

This job operates behind the bar and may be working in close proximity to team members. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping and tripping. 

 

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching. The position may require lifting of products weighing up to 50 pounds.
