The Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will report to the Vice President for Mission and be a key collaborator and resource for University departments as they seek to advance the DeSales mission in matters of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  The Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will lead the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee as it seeks to execute a strategy that develops and operationalizes efforts and initiatives addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion among the University community.  

Qualifications:

·         Master's degree required; doctorate degree strongly preferred

·         10+ years of progressive leadership experience with at least 5 years in diversity and inclusion efforts is required

·         Experience in an academic setting is strongly preferred

·         Demonstrated success in building and implementing organization-wide initiatives and leading change management efforts

·         Effective communication skills, both written and public speaking

·         Knowledge of DEI processes and functions, including development and facilitation of person-centered educational programs, applicable regulatory requirements, coaching & mentoring, student and employee engagement, and culture development

·         Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversity

·         Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution
