WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Living Classrooms Foundation (LCF) is a nonprofit organization that strengthens communities and inspires people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training, using urban, natural, and maritime resources as “living classrooms.” Since 1985, Living Classrooms Foundation (LCF) has offered a distinctive competency in experiential learning--literally learning by direct experience, or what we call "learning by doing." We apply our skill in three areas: K-8 Education; Hands-on Enrichment Education for youth and adults that reinforces academic skills, healthy lifestyles, and direct stewardship; and customized Job Training that prepares adults for employment, while fostering community stewardship. We place a special emphasis on serving youth and families in poverty, adjudicated youth, and adults returning to the community from incarceration. We serve 25,000 people a year at diverse program sites in and around Baltimore and Washington, DC. 

The Workforce Development Assistant provides administrative support and reports to the Managing Director of Workforce Development. 

 Summary of Essential Job Functions

  •  Attend Department meetings, record and distribute minutes with follow up action items
  • Assist Managing Director with preparations for monthly finance meetings
  • Assist Development with providing needed information for proposal budgets and narratives
  • Maintain meeting schedule for Managing Director
  • Assist Managing Director with correspondence
  • Complete Board Report narratives
  • Complete credit card reconciliations and reimbursement requests for Managing Director
  • Collect timesheets, ensure proper coding, for Managing Director direct reports
  • Research grant opportunities
  • Such other duties as are necessary for the operations of the Foundation or as assigned by the Managing Director of Workforce Development

 Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university
  • 3-5 years experience as Administrative Assistant in an executive office
  • Organized and detailed oriented
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
