Title: Validation Engineer – Systems & Platform Validation (Lab)
Job Overview
BOXX Technologies in Austin, TX builds high-performance workstations and servers to order. We’re seeking a Validation Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design, write and execute test plans in our lab to validate new platforms, components and software configurations before they are released to production. Your work ensures that what we build is stable, performant and reliable. You’ll work with engineering, production and support to find issues early and drive fixes.
Duties
Write detailed test plans and test cases for new hardware platforms, components (CPU, multi-GPU, memory, storage, cooling, power), BIOS, firmware, drivers and OS images.
Execute those test plans in the lab: functional, compatibility, stress, thermal, power, performance and long-duration stability testing.
Develop and maintain automated test scripts and tooling for Linux and Windows to make testing repeatable and efficient.
Log, reproduce and root-cause failures. Work with engineering and vendors to resolve them.
Document results in clear validation reports, with a pass/fail recommendation before release to production.
Support production and technical support by reproducing field issues in the lab.
Maintain lab equipment, test configurations and a library of reference builds.
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of both Linux and Windows, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting at the OS level.
Competence in scripting languages such as Python, Bash and PowerShell. You should be able to automate test runs and collect and analyze results.
Hands-on experience with PC workstation or server hardware, including GPUs, memory, storage and thermal behavior.
Experience writing test plans and documenting results.
Strong analytical and root-cause skills, and attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Preferred
Experience with NVIDIA GPU platforms, multi-GPU or AI/ML workloads.
Experience with benchmark and stress tools and hardware diagnostics.
Background in PC OEM, system integrator, or hardware validation or QA.
Certifications such as A+, MCP/MCSE, Red Hat.
