We are currently recruiting versatile, adventure seeking, experienced Front Desk Attendants to work at the Tundra Inn from July - December, 2022.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the first face that many Tundra Inn guests see upon arrival, the front desk attendant is responsible for greeting guests in a welcoming and efficient manner, checking them in and out of their rooms, distributing room keys, answering questions, and processing payments for inn services. The front desk attendant also assists housekeeping staff to clean rooms and attend to guest requests, ensuring Tundra Inn guests enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable stay. 

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Post-secondary education in tourism and hospitality, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.  
  • 1+ years’ related work experience as a hotel front desk attendant, receptionist, or administrator, preferably in the hospitality, sales, or tourism industry.
  • Valid Class 5 (standard driver’s licence) is required. Class 4 (passenger vehicles up to 24 people) is an asset
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; other languages are an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a computer, including Mac operating systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Internet, and server databases.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including interpersonal skills, empathy, and patience.
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience processing payments and performing end-of-day reconciliations/balancing tasks.
  • Flexible and resourceful with challenges that rise from working in a remote, northern location.
  • Must be able to work individually and as part of a team.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Job is in Churchill, Manitoba, a remote, northern location.
  • Hotel environment.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to safely lift 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
  • The ability to travel to Churchill, Manitoba by air and/or train is required.
  • Closed-toe, slip-resistant, comfortable footwear is required. 
  • Staff housing is available.
  • Overtime may be required during evenings, weekends, and on holidays.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
