Supply Chain Manager, Product | York Space Systems

We are seeking a Lead Product Supply Chain Manager to support the design, procurement and make of these aerospace technologies. This position is responsible for leading and managing our product line supply chain by building long-term healthy partnerships with quality suppliers that deliver reliable, state of the art components to meet the needs of our market.  This role will work closely with our engineering teams and product managers to drive strategic supplier decisions that will enable the product vision and ensure the success of York Space Systems.   



  • Identify suppliers for each commodity group within our growing product portfolio, remaining abreast on technology advancements, cost saving opportunities and lessons learned across the industry. 

  • Own the procurement process and lead procurement activities to ensure on time product delivery for committed and future programs. 

  • Develop and maintain long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers, own the supplier relationships and identify win-win scenarios in collaboration with product and program management. 

  • Work with the product management team and key internal stakeholders to facilitate make vs. buy decisions for the product. 

  • Work with product management and operations to determine the product demand signal, own and communicate that demand signal to the supply chain and determine the appropriate inventory strategy to balance risk and cost. 

  • Responsible for driving suppliers and partners to meet delivery commitments. 

  • Work with product management to develop our strategic product roadmap. 

  • Hold regular touch points with suppliers to ensure delivery is on track. 

  • Perform regular supplier visits and audits to identify and mitigate supply chain risks and opportunities before they are realized. 

  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure the product requirements and performance specifications are understood and test plans are in place for purchased products. 

  • Collaborate with programs and the procurement team to ensure robust and clear requirements are passed to the suppliers in a timely manner. 

  • Collaborate with receiving to ensure inspection and handling plans are in place and executed. 

  • Own the obsolescence management plan for all product components, drive the supply chain to proactively mitigate obsolescence throughout the life of the product. 

  • Manage the opportunities and risks register for the supply chain, engaging with suppliers, engineering and the programs team to ensure risks are mitigated and managed to ensure program success.    



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in business, engineering or a related field. 

  • 7years of experience in supply chain management, purchasing or related background. 

  • 3+ years of experience with electronics suppliers, or space industry supply chains. 

  • Demonstrates self-initiated work in a team environment with strong leadership skills. 

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
