Family Engagement Coordinator - Contract (6mnths)

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Family Engagement Coordinator is a 6mnth contract position. This role will coordinate and facilitate targeted efforts to engage families and partners in targeted outreach initiatives such as COVID-19 vaccine education including testing and vaccination. Provides metrics and evaluation to the Director, Program Services and Family Engagement Manager.

 

KEY ROLES:

1.      Identifies new/untapped areas for outreach. Works to retain current relationships.

2.      Coordinates meetings, workshops, vaccine clinics that facilitate community targeted outreach initiatives

3.      Develop and implement various strategies to promote targeted outreach initiatives including flyers, emails, text messages, and social media posts.

4.      Collaborate and share strategies with other Boys & Girls Clubs organizations to expand outreach.

5.      Develops and maintains metrics database and provides reports as needed.

6.      Maintain accurate records related to outreach efforts.

7.      Recommends and requisitions supplies needed for the assigned role.

8.      Work with all the staff to host related events as necessary.

9.      Required to be in the community and must meet Texas requirements for driver license.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Attend programs and clubs operations and organizational related meetings as needed.

2.      Coordinate partner participation in family workshops as needed.

3.      Develop surveys to obtain parent and community feedback.

 

RELATIONSHIPS:

INTERNAL: Maintain close, daily contact with Director and Family Engagement Manager to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct and advise/counsel.

EXTERNAL: Maintain contact as needed with community health groups, inter-regional Boys & Girls Clubs, and others to promote targeted outreach initiatives.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent 4yrs of direct experience.

·         A minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.

·         Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.

·         Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, if applicable.

·         Strong computer skills.

·         Ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff.

·         Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.

·         Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management.

·         Skills in fund-raising events.

·         Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.

·         Must have a valid Texas driver’s license (CDL may be required based on vehicle standards), and be insurable.

·         Must have a positive attitude and be able to speak confidently about the benefits and advantages of COVID-19 vaccines.

·         May work extended evening or weekend hours based on project.

·         Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.

·         Must be able to disseminate the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston mission and philosophy advocating targeted outreach initiatives including COVID-19 education and vaccination.
