The Cultural Resources Program Manager will develop, manage, and grow a cultural resources service line for Providence's Natural Resource & Coastal Services Group. A proven technical background in cultural resources, project management, and business development is required. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter that will assume initiative, is versatile, has a service mentality, and works well in a team environment. The position presents a unique opportunity to build a cultural resources group from the ground up.
- Manage all aspects of cultural resources projects, including fieldwork, research, and report writing, with responsibility for successful on-time and on-budget completion of projects.
- Supervise, direct, and instruct personnel in the field and in the office.
- Conduct and oversee fieldwork, including inventory, data recovery, and monitoring. Manage QA/QC, organize, and track data. Conduct field GPS data collection using EOS Arrow 100 Series GPS Units.
- Conduct and oversee laboratory analysis and office-based research.
- Prepare and create technical, high quality proposals, scientific reports, site form preparation, research, and literature reviews within scope, on budget, and on time with little supervisory oversight.
- Coordinate with clients and agency personnel.
- Take leadership in business development and marketing and development of new client relationships.
Skills and Experience
- Working knowledge of federal, state and/or local regulations (e.g., National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106) governing cultural resource management in the Gulf Coast region.
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field and a minimum of seven to ten years (7 - 10 years) of experience in Cultural Resource Management.
- Technical consulting skills to support Providence growth in business and client base in cultural resources.
- Experience in project planning, coordination, scheduling, creating/tracking budgets, and resource management.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate experience with state and federal permitting as lead author on technical cultural resources reports.
- Proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Ability to provide cooperation and coordination with other Providence media groups.
- Willingness to travel.
