We are looking for a reliable, team-oriented Assistant Cook to help prepare and serve nutritious, safe, and delicious meals and snacks for children in our programs.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks following established menus, food safety practices, and dietary requirements.
• Support food preparation, kitchen operations, cleaning, sanitation, inventory, and food storage.
• Help ensure allergies and dietary needs are followed safely and appropriately.
• Work collaboratively with educators, kitchen staff, leaders, and program teams to create a welcoming and positive environment for children.
• Follow established health, safety, public health, and BGC Kawarthas procedures.
• Support special events and program activities as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in food service, food preparation, cooking, or a related setting.
• Food Handler certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Standard First Aid & CPR Level C, or willingness to obtain.
• Clear Criminal Reference Check (18+ years of age) and a Vulnerable Sector Screening (19+ years of age) in accordance with the Police Record Checks Reform Act (PRCRA). Applications can be completed online through your local Police station.
• Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and reliability.
• A commitment to food safety, inclusion, and creating positive experiences for children.
• Experience in child care, school, community, or institutional food service is an asset. 
• Culinary, food service, nutrition, or related education is also an asset.
