Who You Are:


The TIG Welding candidate must also be experienced in MIG welding, Flux-Core welding and pipe fitting. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in stainless steel pipe welding. Candidates work must also be able to pass x-ray.


A Gas Tungsten ARC (TIG) Welder's Day in the Life:

  • Must be able to follow all safety practices and PPE according to OSHA and AVANTech's procedures.
  • Prep pipe fittings and pipe ends for full penetration welds on pipe assemblies.
  • GTA weld on carbon steel, stainless steel and duplex stainless steel.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols used to fabricate piping assemblies or skids.
  • Calculate pipe fitting "take-outs" on piping measurements.
  • TIG Welder must be able to weld pipe diameters ranging from 1/2" to 36" in all positions.
  • Must be able to weld structural steel in all positions.
  • Must be able to operate a high frequency amperage control foot pedal while welding.
  • Must have the ability to correctly read a tape measure and level.
  • Must be able to identify which type of filler wire to use for a given type of base metal.
  • All welds must pass ASME pressure vessel and piping codes.
  • Must be able to operate power and hand tools.
  • Must be willing to assist in other fabrication needs such as hydrostatic/pneumatic testing of systems and interconnect hoses, perform finishing work such as cleaning/painting of parts, and general material handling/storage.
  • Ability to operate machinery, such as lift-truck, Ironworker, End-Mill and Lathe experience preferred.


What Will Set You Up for Success:


  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of hands on experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to be flexible and responsive to changing business needs
  • A high level of safe working practices is vital

Requirements:


Candidates must be able to pass drug test, pre-employment physical and background check.


 This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
