Business Development Associate

If so, we have good news, you can be that cool person on the block that helps make glass blowing, art exhibits, and festivals accessible to all in the Lehigh Valley. We’re hiring a Business Development Associate here at ArtsQuest to manage and grow partnerships and cultivate new sponsor relationships to continue bringing exciting events to the local area.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with leadership and other team members to prospect new partners and actively promote our mission while also growing the support of existing partners
  • Assist in developing and implementing creative sponsorship concepts and proposals and presenting to corporate and business decision-makers
  • Negotiate and manage in-kind / trade partnerships with area restaurants and vendor partners
  • Maintain and sustain event participation/creation and growth of events such as Cars and Coffee, SangriaFest, TacoFest, etc.
  • Cultivate relationships through attendance of networking events as a representative of ArtsQuest
  • Secure print and digital advertisers along with mobile marketers, both nationally and locally, for ArtsQuest festivals and events
  • Invite and host prospective partners at ArtsQuest Events


What you need to thrive in this role

  • 1-3 years of similar work experience in sales and marketing, economic or community development, or fundraising in a non-profit environment, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration or related field
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
  • Ability to work flexible hours such as evenings, weekends and holidays during festivals and events
  • Must love to network. Experience or knowledge of the Lehigh Valley, its leading business corporations and its non-profit and government institutions and leaders
  • Previous experience or knowledge of sponsorship in events, festivals, sports and/or non-profit programs strongly preferred
  • Goal-oriented and driven to achieve and exceed results
  • Think on your feet, and creatively problem solve
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Blackbaud Products, especially Raiser’s Edge in a plus
  • Experience understanding and selling advertising packages is a plus

The compensation range for this role is: $38,000- $44,000
