Academic Explorers Teacher
YMCA of Bucks County, Doylestown branch, is hiring certified teachers to work with campers to bridge the gap between school years and enhance children’s love of learning while focusing on reading, writing and math.
Responsibilities of Academic Explorers Teacher:
Implement reading, writing and math curriculum and activities to meet academic standards and help campers prepare for the new school year
Develop and deliver daily engaging lesson plans aligned to specific learning objectives, using a variety of instructional methods.
Create a positive, achievement-oriented, organized learning environment
Empower campers to make positive choices
Communicate effectively with campers, families & staff
Qualifications of Academic Explorers Teacher:
Bachelor’s degree is required
Minimum of two years teaching experience
Valid teaching certification required
Knowledge of differentiated instructional practices and strategies
Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic standards and instructional rigor
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Committed to the goals of the program and approach
Love and respect for children
Days/Hours Needed for Academic Explorers Teacher: Monday through Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm, Approx. 25 hours per week, including prep time. *This is a seasonal position from mid June to August*
Wage: $15.00 - $20.00/ per hour. *An individual YMCA membership is included with employment*
