Accountants Payable - 3 Month Contract

We are seeking an Accounts Payable - 3 Month Contract position, that will be responsible for assisting with various accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. This temporary position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in accounts payable while supporting our team during a busy period.


  • Process invoices received from vendors promptly and accurately, ensuring proper coding and authorization according to company policies.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to verify the accuracy of billing and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs, EFT payments, and wire transfers in accordance with payment terms and deadlines.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or outstanding issues in a timely manner to maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting related to accounts payable.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and internal requests for accounts payable information courteously and professionally.
  • Maintain organized electronic files for invoices, payments, and related documentation to facilitate easy retrieval and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounts payable processes, streamline workflows, and contribute to departmental efficiency.


  • Previous experience in accounts payable or related finance/accounting role preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Dynamics Cannabis 365 or similar ERP systems is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and invoice processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus but not required.

Location: This is an onsite position located downtown Vancouver, BC
