About the Opportunity:

The Director of User Experience (UX) is the responsible for setting the UX direction of the product suite, overseeing the design process and UX team, implementing best practices and processes for creating exceptional user experiences, and assisting in the achievement of product and business goals. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
•    Participates in the hiring and training of UX team
•    Manages the UX Designers
•    Organizes and oversees the work, responsibilities, and outcomes of the UX team
•    Establishes team goals, metrics and reports on team performance

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Own responsibility and is accountable for every step of the design process
•    Drive collaboration across all functions to share in the understanding and empathy of our users to support ownership and connection to the user value provided in what we are building and why we are building it. Collaborate with the product team to ensure vision aligns with user goals and needs
•    Work with product and development teams to define and shape an exceptional and consistent user experience
•    Create a playbook and style guide of design standards
•    Create a UX roadmap to evolve the product suite over time to continually enhance the user experience
•    Conduct user research via client focus groups and other activities
•    Serves as a champion and evangelist for the UX discipline and the team
•    Drive UX team through data driven design methodologies using both qualitative and quantitative metrics
•    Bring awareness of design trends in general and related to our market; Advocate for implementing them throughout the product suite


About You:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•    10+ years of experience designing engaging web-based software product user experiences
•    3+ years managing a User Experience design team
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in UX, related area of study or equivalent work experience
•    Experience with common platforms and tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Studio, and XD
•    Knowledge of Front-end web technologies such as WCAG, HTML, CSS are required for this role
•    Understanding of web-based software technology, its capabilities, and limitations
•    The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, agile environment, while also leading process improvement efforts
•    Experience leading research efforts in both quantitative and qualitative data gathering
•    Proven experience in team building, mentoring, and leadership
•    Power to influence others and build consensus, while dealing with ambiguity
•    Self-motivated, accountable, good communicator, with the ability to balance great design with meeting deadlines
•    Experience using analytics, user research and other approaches to help make decisions and iterate on the product
