The Opportunity:

The Digital Marketing Lead works primarily in partnership with marketing and program team members to develop and execute digital marketing strategies to increase program participation and customer engagement. They are responsible for ensuring an excellent customer experience in the digital space, driving program participation, and supporting any projects in the digital space.

The job requires the incumbent to be a strategic leader, self-motivated and detail-orientated, with effective project management skills for the completion of projects on time and within budget. In addition, the role involves using innovative ideas to generate digital marketing strategies, initiatives, and programs.  

  • Responsible for managing EfficiencyOne’s digital assets and websites, including but not limited to content updates, user management, troubleshooting, development of new assets and standard updates, ensuring customer-first processes to site experience, overseeing the general health of sites, and working closely with the digital agency of record to strategize updates, oversee wireframe/design/development stages for medium to major updates and completely new builds for sites and tools.
  • Responsible for maintaining website governance documents and procedures and acting as a resource for all EfficiencyOne website functionality and asset governance, working with the IT team regarding website migration, security, hosting, etc., while maintaining excellent digital citizenship.
  • Responsible to understand Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) laws and ensure Efficiency Nova Scotia email campaigns are compliant and ensure customer data use processes are followed and compliant with Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requirements and collaborating with Privacy Officer for any breaches or updates, etc.
  • Responsible for analyzing data across different platforms and reports to help the marketing team make better data-driven decisions.
  • Responsible for managing EfficiencyOne search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns and partnerships with media and creative suppliers who manage day-to-day activities.
  • Responsible for supporting the team in email marketing efforts, including email development; email execution; Marketing Cloud user management/training; strategy; Marketing Cloud email journeys; reviewing post-campaign reporting and insights, comparing the results against key performance indicators and ROI, and making recommendations for future campaigns, while working with Information & Analytics team.

What Will Help You Succeed?

  • University degree or Community College diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in the following:

           o Developing digital marketing strategies and implementing successful digital marketing initiatives.

           o Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, and email deployment software; (salesforce marketing cloud                                         would be considered an asset)

           o Managing and maintaining websites (user management, training, word press content updates (working with                                              WordPress would be considered an asset).

 

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and Salesforce CRM software.
  • The ideal candidate should have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, diplomacy & discretion.

What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:   

In the first week, expect to:

  • Meet the marketing team, go through the training and onboarding process by meeting with other departments, learning about Efficiency Nova Scotia.  
  • Meet our agency partners and get familiar with current brands and campaigns.  
  • Training in software – Basecamp, SharePoint, Fresh Ticket.  
  • Training and time to read marketing plan and work plan. 
  • Read program materials, company information (SharePoint materials), and past Annual Reports to get familiar with Efficiency Nova Scotia. 

In the first month, expect to:

  • Be assigned projects to familiarize yourself with programs, campaigns, and marketing plans.  
  • Participate in weekly marketing team huddles and review the work plan.  
  • Job shadows other teammates to learn about their roles and responsibilities.   
  • Work with agency partners and execute marketing plan campaigns and projects.  
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager to train and learn how to execute projects.  
  • Work closely with Program Managers to learn the program and projects. 
  • Training and time to read marketing processes.

In the first three months, expect to:

  • Perform core duties independently.  
  • Participate in team meetings and agency partner meetings.  
  • Work closely with Information and Analytics to learn data and reporting.
  • Work closely with Information and Technology to learn website governance, security, and policies.
  • Training as needed on Marketing Cloud.
  • Work closely with Digital Agency to learn the details of the website.
  • Managing budget forecasts and approving invoices.  
  • Producing reports of completed projects and upcoming projects, including creative snapshots, timelines, and results.  
  • Work with your manager to develop individual learning/development goals.
