The Coordinator of Gateway To Success oversees programming and services for students in the Gateway To Success Program. Beginning with their admission to DeSales in the senior year of high school, these students receive support before and during the entirety of their college experience, including intensive support in the summer prior to matriculation and throughout their first year. This individual also contributes to the university’s retention goals by supporting programs and initiatives for first-generation students.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling or a related program preferred

·         Minimum of one year of professional experience in academic support services at the secondary or college level preferred

·         Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

·         A passion for helping students to achieve academic success

·         Teaching experience desired

·         ESL background desired

·         Sensitivity to issues of ethnicity, disability, and diversity

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with a variety of state and federal laws, guidelines, and regulations

·         Dedication to the mission of a Catholic, liberal arts institution
