POSITION: RESORT MANAGER

REPORTS TO: General Manager

STATUS:  Full time/ Year round

POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Resort Manager is responsible for the management of the non-F&B Lodge at Whitefish Lake operational departments of Front Office (including Valet); Concierge; Housekeeping (including Laundry); Spa; Maintenance;  and for the Averill Hospitality combined operational departments of Reservations and Transportation for the Whitefish properties. Additional departments may be added to the Resort Manager role in the future.

The Resort Manager is accountable for outcomes of the operational areas outlined above, including guest service and satisfaction objectives, financial objectives and staffing objectives.

The Resort Manager deputizes for the General Manager in his/her absence.

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team of the resort, the Resort Manager is responsible for modeling our core values and charges; contributing to the fulfillment business objectives across the business unit; and to collaborate with others in the Executive Leadership Team in the fulfillment of our shared mission.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  •    A four year degree
  •   Five years experience or greater in a resort management role, in a similar scale property
  • Multi-year four and/or five star/diamond property experience
  • Extensive experience in resort operations
  • A commitment to ongoing, continuing professional development
  • Strong computer skills, including in hospitality software systems
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong training and staff development skills
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • Warm, engaging personality that projects professional confidence and calm
  • High regard for customer service and employee relations
  • A strong degree of creativity to facilitate efficient problem solving
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of personal integrity and ethics

SCHEDULE / HOLIDAYS/ PTO:

The Resort Manager is expected to normally keep a 5 day a week schedule, adjusted as needed according to occupancy and business need, and be available for peak guest times and/or in the event of an emergency. A work week of 45 hours per week can be expected, however it can be more or less depending on the business needs of the Lodge. Working evenings, weekends and holidays is required, and the Resort Manager will participate in on-call emergency coverage with the Lodge team. The Resort Manger will typically be available during peak seasons, typically taking PTO and vacations during slower seasons.  Typically, PTO will not be allowed during June 15 - September 15, and December 15 – January 5.
