Warehouse Assistant
Job Details:
-Inspect and unload incoming materials and ensure shipments meet specifications prior to receiving.
-Inspect and load outgoing items and ensure shipments meet specifications prior to shipping.
-Verify counts and weight total of incoming and outgoing materials.
-Review sales orders / purchase order and verify their accuracy to items shipped / received.
-Report material shortages during receiving process.
-Ensure material movement and handling practices maintain proper inventory counts.
-Stage orders awaiting shipment
-Perform vehicle container inspection and report damaged material or improper transport containers.
-Ensure material is stored in the proper location and special material is in proper placement.
-Ensure correct inventory labels are applied to all materials.
-Coordinate the deconstruction of staged materials and return to storage of materials.
-Operate various industrial machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
-Operate various electronic devices such as computers, tablets and scanners.
-Responsible as a Materials Department member to initiate and uphold company standards for material labeling, identity, lot coding, and traceability company-wide.
Required Skills:
-Perform tasks that will result in contact with some food allergens. (Company will advise)
-High School Diploma/GED or equivalent education.
-Demonstrate commitment to company values, policies and procedures.
-Ability to stand and maneuver for long periods of time.
-Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift objects of up to 60 lbs.
-Ability to work well with colleagues in a professional & organized manner.
Desired Skills:
-1-2 years of similar position experience, including Inventory Management.
-Proficiency in basic use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications.
-Machinery operation experience, especially Pallet Jack and Forklift experience.
-Experience in the manufacturing and food industry.
