Data Center Network Engineer

Job Description:

The Data Center Network Engineer will be keeping the datacenters running seamlessly and up-to-the-minute across all enterprise enclaves (unclassified, secret, and top secret). 

Responsibilities:

·         Design and implement new network solutions and improve the efficiency of current ACI Fabrics environments.

·         Research and integrate new technologies into the CISCO ACI Fabric lifecycle.

·         Install, configure, and support network equipment and implement security measures.

·         Configure firewalls, routing and ACI Fabric to maximize network efficiency and security.

·         Investigate faults in the network, troubleshoot, diagnosing, and resolving HW/SW production issues.

·         Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases.

·         Report network status to key stakeholders.

·         Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring.

·         Arrange scheduled upgrades to replace faulty network hardware components, when required.

·         Provides recommendations to Network Leadership regarding growth plans and assists with the overall design and support of the network.

·         Analyzes network traffic patterns to resolve connectivity issues.

·         Analyzes system performance and resolves problems, makes appropriate recommendations.

·         Provides input to management regarding monitoring solutions and the procurement of network equipment and supplies.

·         Acts as the primary interface with user and vendors for resolving problems.

·         Designs and performs equipment installations and relocation as required to support the business needs of the enterprise.

·         Expert knowledge of network design and configuration, technology concepts and methodologies of analysis

Required Experience:

·         8+ years of network engineering or development experience.

·         5+ years of experience in an IT infrastructure lead role including areas of WAN and LAN routing protocols, switch fabric technology, firewall security, and load-balancing architecture.

·         2-3 years hands-on experience with designing and implementing data center Fabric solution using Cisco ACI technology.

·         Deep technical knowledge inclusive of network routing protocols (BGP), EIGRP, subnetting, network monitoring and management.

·         Cisco ACI fabric design and implementation in network centric mode, including L2/L3 Outs, EPGs, VRFs, Contracts, and integration with 3rd party Load-Balancer, Firewall and Compute products.

·         Advanced skills in operational troubleshooting, monitoring, routing, and switching.

Education: (preferred)

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other related analytical, scientific, or technical discipline

·         Certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, CCSE or AWS Certified Advanced Networking

•         Must be US Citizen with an Active Top-Secret w/SCI Eligibility
