Material Handlers needed 

Wheels Now Inc. is a local wheel manufacturer and distributor. We have an opening for two Material Handlers available. They are full time positions with full benefits available after probationary period.


Job Description

Material Handlers are responsible for assisting in a vital part of the supply chain process through efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. 


Duties and Responsibilities include the following . Other duties may be assigned. 

  1. Assist Warehouse Supervisor with incoming and outgoing freight/product, pulling orders, assembling product and all other warehouse tasks.
  2. Identify, correctly count, verify, and mark incoming parts.
  3. Assist with receiving and organizing product.
  4. Ability to read specifications and blueprints to verify quality and conformance to meet the customer's needs.
  5. Package outgoing freight on skids with shrink wrap and banding as well as boxing items up with tape and banding.
  6. Pull orders efficiently and correctly according to the pick list.
  7. Make local deliveries to customers and vendors.
  8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
  9. Develop new ideas for more efficiency in warehouse.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks Inventory, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge.

 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Specialized Training:

·        Forklift training

·        Scissor lift training

 

Certificates and Licenses:

·        Valid driver's license

·        Forklift certification

·        Scissor lift certification

 

Equipment:

·        Forklift

·        Scissor lift

·        Packaging machine

·        Delivery truck

·        Dump truck

·        Picker

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

·        Well organized with great time management skills

·        Great written and verbal communication skills

·        Ability to work well with individuals and small teams

·       Ability to adapt to different needs of the company

·        Ability to read basic part specifications and blueprints

·        Ability to handle the stress of a fast paced environment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color.
