Fleet Administration & Operations Manager
ND Landscape is seeking a highly organized, driven, and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing fleet. This role is not about being a hands-on mechanic — it’s about leadership, logistics, organization, communication, and execution. Position Overview
The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing a fleet of approximately 60 vehicles and pieces of equipment, ensuring everything is tracked, maintained, repaired, compliant, and ready to perform. You will lead a small team, coordinate vendors, manage inventory, and make informed decisions around repairs, replacements, and purchases.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the full lifecycle of fleet assets, including repairs, maintenance, replacements, sales, and new purchases
- Schedule and prioritize fleet needs to minimize downtime and keep crews productive
- Manage and lead a team of 1-3 direct reports, holding them accountable to expectations, timelines, and quality of work
- Track all fleet inventory, equipment, parts, and supplies with extreme accuracy and organization
- Research equipment, vendors, pricing, warranties, and safety requirements for trucks and equipment
- Partner with local vendors to secure fast service, reliable support, and competitive pricing
- Communicate clearly and professionally with leadership, field teams, and vendors
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and urgent issues, thinking on the fly to find solutions
- Maintain detailed records related to fleet condition, repairs, costs, and compliance
- Continuously improve fleet systems, processes, and efficiencies
