About Working on a “Floatel”
LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650-passenger “Floatel”. The Floatel will be permanently docked in Squamish, B.C. and is estimated to operate for up to three years. All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.
Individuals who do not have the required marine safety certifications (see details below) will be required to attend a 5 – 10-day marine safety program. LandSea covers the costs of training, however, crew who do not complete minimum employment contracts are responsible to repay part of all the training costs.
At work, the crew are provided with accommodation, full meals, WIFI and can access health/gym facilities they can access when off work. We provide partial uniforms and help with the travel/reservations as needed to and from locations. Excellent Health and Wellness benefits are offered after three months.
About the Opportunity
We currently have an opening for General Helper-Dining Room Attendant.
This position is responsible for assisting in preparing meals and ensuring the kitchen, dining, and living areas are clean and sanitary at all times. This position requires the ability to follow directions, be diligent, focused and consistent. Comfort with kitchen equipment and knife skills are required.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Basic food preparation, including food portioning
Clean and sanitize all flatware, pots, pans, and plate-ware
Maintain adequate stock of food and drink in serving areas and minimize leftovers and product waste
Assist in serving meals, remaining present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback
Assist anywhere else in the kitchen during production
Courteous, efficient, and friendly in all customer and employee interactions
Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
Sweep and mop kitchen floors
Wash worktables, walls and refrigerators
Remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers
Other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
Must hold a valid food safety certificate
Excellent people skills
Ability to work independently, effectively and efficiently
Team player
Camp kitchen experience is an asset
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time
Repeat the same movements including fast, repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists
Use muscles to lift, push, pull or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
Use hands to handle objects and tools
Willingness to travel often

Domestic Vessel Safety Certificate
Passenger Safety Management Certificate
Advanced First Aid an asset
Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice;
Serving it Right Certification an asset

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian, PR Status, or valid Work Permit)
Criminal Record Check
Must be able to provide own transportation to designated travel hub (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Prince George, Terrace etc.,)
Able to work night shift
Available to work multiple rotations including but not limited to 21-7, 2-2,4-2 etc.
Be able to provide at least 2 professional work references
