Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. – an employee owned, western Canada based company, is looking for Surveyor to join our growing team in Prince George. BC. We are in search of individuals with education and/or experience in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and Mining disciplines.
You’ll be able to apply your experience and technical abilities towards projects involving geotechnical/civil engineering, QA/QC construction monitoring, site investigations, soils, and concrete lab testing, for a variety of clients in open pit mining environments.
These roles are fulltime, field-based positions, which require close alignment with Terracon’s S.I.T.E. values (Safety, Integrity Teamwork and Entrepreneurism). This is a camp-based role with opportunities for fly-in, fly-out or being local in Prince George, BC. Commercial flights to and from Prince George are provided from, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
Summary of Responsibilities
· Accurately record as-builds and other data
· Ensure staking of construction areas within a mine environment
· Prepare field notes, quality control for survey work, compiling and computing survey data
· Interact with engineering personnel to discuss placement of material outside design specifications.
· Ensure data submitted to model is accurate and in a timely manner
· Administer proper care and maintenance of survey gear, company truck and other equipment
· Provide data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation or dimension of land for engineering, mapmaking, land evaluation, construction and other purposes
What We’re Looking For
· Minimum requirements for this role are a high school diploma combined with 2 years of relevant experience
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
· High level of dependability
· Technical abilities when it comes to topographic, volumetric, preliminary planning, design, control, and boundary
· Preference will be given to those who have previous mining experience
· Strong commitment to safety, knowledge of safety regulations and experience in implementing safety procedures on mining projects
· Willingness to relocate is encouraged

Working Conditions, Schedule, and Physical Requirements
· Legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis
· Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract and 2 years’ experience in the industry field
· Must be physically able to perform field work as required. A fitness for work test will be performed before hired
· Successfully complete a drug & alcohol test
