The primary purpose of your job position is to assist with the preparation of food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, within established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Dietitian and or Food Service Manager, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

Assist in preparing and serving food in accordance with established policies and procedures including portion and temperature control procedures. Review menus prior to preparation of food and prepare meals in accordance with planned menus. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Assure meals are serves on a timely basis. Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes, special diet orders, and planned menus.

QUALIFICAITONS:

Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a 10thgrade education.

Experience: None. On-the-job training provided

Physical and Sensory Requirements: Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day. Must be able to hear with or without prosthetics to adequately meet the requirements of the position. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50) pounds. Must be in good health and demonstrate emotional stability. Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

Other: Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to cope with the mental, emotional and physical stress of the position. Must have a positive attitude, actively promoting teamwork.
