The Opportunity:
The role of the Guided Pathways Coach is to provide case management support to IRCC eligible clients whom are deemed more vulnerable than general settlement but whom do not meet vulnerability criteria for RISE. The assessment process may include Program staff for language and cultural interpretation and consultation purposes. Upon completion of the assessment process, the Guided Pathway Coach will develop an Individual Settlement and Integration Plan (ISIP) in collaboration with the client and the client’s worker if the worker made the initial referral. In order for the ISIP to be holistic and inclusive in its intent, the Guided Pathway Coach must have wide knowledge and expertise in programs and supports available both within DIVERSEcity and in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides information related to the Guided Pathway process for each program staff and client as needed;
- Acts as a resource for program staff in managing Guided Pathway client files as needed;
- Develops the ISIP for each client in a collaborative approach with the program staff and the client when needed;
- Plans, organizes and implements the case management meetings;
- Liaises with DIVERSEcity departments and/or community services and supports, as indicated by client’s needs;
- Provides information in a culturally appropriate manner;
- Provides support to program staff in the Guided Pathway management of clients when needed;
- Ensures program staff follow proper protocol and processes in maintain the confidentiality of client information and files when required;
- Maintains appropriate documentation and monthly & quarterly statistics and narrative reports including any other information to assist in the evaluation of the program;
- Participates in program evaluation, training sessions and meetings that meet the needs of IRCC settlement programming as required;
- Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as attending community events;
- Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals.
Qualified Candidate with Possess:
- Diploma in social work or a related human/social service field;
- A minimum of 2 year’s recent experience as a social worker or equivalent experience and /or education in settlement work in the community or ethno cultural communities or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Demonstrated experience in developing Individual Settlement and Integration Plans for clients;
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders;
- Knowledge of community development theory and practice;
- Ability to use computer, software applications (word processing, database, excel) and standard office equipment;
- Verbal and written proficiency at a professional level for both English and one of the contracted languages;
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license;
- Knowledge of settlement, adjustment and integration of newcomer immigrants and refugees is important.
