JOB SUMMARY
 
LivingClassroomsFoundationatMasonvilleCoveoperatesacross-curricularsummerprogramentitledBaltimoreEnvironmentalEducationSummerMathAndReadingTrailblazers(BEESMART).YouwilloverseeateamofEducatorsresponsiblefordeliveringSTEM-basedinstructionthatwillimprovetheoverallliteracyofprogramparticipants.TheSiteManagerisresponsibleforassistingtheProgramDirectorinensuringthat21stCCLCgrantrequirementsandgoalsaremet,including,butnotlimitedto:STEMlessons,recreationtime,charactereducationlessons,servicelearningactivities,andpresentationsoflearning.Inaddition,theSiteManagersactasteamleadstocoordinatesmallgrouppull-outsessionsandreadingassessmentsledbytheReadingSpecialist,aswellastofulfillparentand/orstudentrequeststhatmaybemetbytheprogram’sBilingualParentLiaison.TheSiteManagerswillassisttheProgramDirectorintheimplementationofstafftrainingweekpriortothestartoftheprogram,willgathernecessarysuppliesandmaterials,andwillparticipateinpre-programtrainingandpost-programdebriefingmeetings.

StudentHours:MondayThursday,8:30am3:00pm
StaffHours:MondayThursday,8:00am4:00pm
* selectFridayhours,aspecialFridayfieldtrip,andtwoeveningfamilyworkshopswillberequired 
 

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS

PrimaryResponsibilities
1. Takechargeofarrivalanddismissaleachday,includingbuildingrapportwithparentsandensuringthatstudentsarewheretheyaresupposedtobethroughouttheday
2. Logstudentattendanceandotherrelevantnotes,andreportdailyfindingstoProgramDirector
3. Adaptandoverseetheimplementationofprogramcurriculum
4. ProvideEducatorswithnecessarytoolssothatlessonmaterialsarepreparedeachday
5. LeadcollaborativeeffortsbetweenanassignedteamofEducators,ReadingSpecialist,YouthSpecialistandBilingualParentLiaisonthroughouttheprogramtoensurecohesivestudentserviceseachday
6. Ensurethatdivisionoflaboramongststaffteamisfair,andaccordingtotheirjobdescriptions
7. Modelgoodbehaviormanagementbyholdingstudentsaccountableforactionsaswellasdemonstratingconsistentandcreativeuseofpositivereinforcementtechniques
8. LeadProfessionalDevelopmentactivitiesduringstafftraining
9. NotifyProgramDirector,immediately,ofanyemergencyor1staidoccurrenceandlogtheincidentusingaLivingClassroomsIncidentReportForm,aspromptlyaspossible
10. Overseeroutineupkeepofprogramteachingspaces
 
CoordinatedResponsibilities
1. ActivelyengageandparticipateinprovidedProfessionalDevelopmentopportunities
2. AssistintheplanningandimplementationofFamilyEngagementworkshops
3. UtilizetheadviceoftheReadingSpecialistinaddressingIndividualEducationPrograms(IEPs)ofparticipatingstudents,asnecessary
4. Accommodate,orseekassistanceinaccommodating,studentsforwhomEnglishisa2ndlanguage
5. Circulateandpresentprograminformationtostudents,families,andteachers,asrequested
6. Traveltovariousprogramsites,occasionallymorethanoneperday
7.  Administer qualitative surveys upon request
8.  Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. Education, Science, ELA, Math)
  • At least two years experience as an Educator (formal or informal)
  • Direct experience with 2nd through 5th grade students and/or STEM
  • OST leadership experience
