Interested in a non-employee internship at UWGLV but don't see a specific internship role available that meets your interest area? Use this job posting to complete a general application for any Stipend Internships.
Stipend Internships at UWGLV are available in most of our business areas year round.
Open to individuals of any age over 14, in a
formal educational program or not, who demonstrate they are developing new
professional skills and would benefit from the opportunity to work and learn in
Will work on projects that go beyond that which
the organization expected to accomplish with regular employees and which are
not core to the achievement of the organization’s mission. A stipend intern’s work accountabilities are
“nice to have” rather than “must have” contributions to the organizational
priorities for the year.
A stipend intern is expected to get as much from
the work experience at UWGLV as UWGLV gets from the intern. The supervisor of a stipend intern should
anticipate a “break-even” exchange of time invested in mentoring the intern
versus work product contributed to the organization.
It is not the purpose or intention of this
program to allow prospective employees to “work for free” to demonstrate their
skill set or prove their suitability for employment. Candidates applying for stipend
internships for this purpose will not be accepted.
Not compensated for their time or work.
May serve as a stipend intern for no more than 1
year or no more than 950 hours.
Stipend Interns will receive a stipend intended
to offset the costs they have associated with serving in the office (meals and
transportation). The stipend will be $25
per week of the internship period, payable in equal installments to start with
1 on their first day, 1 every 3 weeks during the internship and 1 on their last
A stipend intern may decline the stipend for any
reason, including if their school does not allow it as part of their internship
