Location: Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux – Parish-Based Role
Position Type: Full-Time (Benefits Eligible)
The Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is seeking a passionate and faith-filled Youth Formation Specialist to lead and implement a comprehensive parish youth formation program. This role plays a vital part in fostering Christian living, ministry, and outreach by guiding young people in their faith journey from early childhood through high school.
This position is ideal for a missionary disciple who is enthusiastic about evangelization and committed to forming the next generation of Catholic leaders.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the implementation of a comprehensive Youth Formation process for grades 1–12
Provide catechesis and evangelization opportunities for youth across all grade levels
Accompany, mentor, and develop volunteer leaders involved in youth ministry
Collaborate closely with pastoral staff, mentors, and parish volunteers
Evaluate and continuously improve youth formation programming
Build engagement and foster a culture of participation among youth and families
Qualifications & CharacteristicsThe ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A personal call to holiness and commitment to Catholic teaching
A deep love for youth and ability to build meaningful relationships
A passion for evangelization and faith formation
Strong leadership skills, including the ability to cast vision and build support
A collaborative spirit and ability to work within a parish team
Preferred:
Prior experience in youth ministry, catechesis, or parish leadership
