Overview:
In this role the candidate will report to the Director, Development. You are a seasoned major gift professional, who will be responsible for developing strategies and programs to grow revenue from existing and new corporate partners by aligning corporate goals and interest to those of Covenant House Toronto. This individual will work across departments to identify opportunities that will maximize support for Covenant House Toronto properties and programs and to develop tailored proposals that resonate with potential corporate partners. You have had success with obtaining gifts at the $25K+ level.
Job Responsibilities:
- Works with the Director to develop annual plans & budgets to support strategic vision for the department.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate donors, with accountability for achieving fundraising targets and deadlines within established budgets.
- Manage and track donor interactions and moves.
- Collaborates with internal departments to understand and create opportunities for corporate partnerships.
- Builds and maintains a portfolio of approximately 100+ supporters.
- Creates and delivers compelling, customized proposals that align the objectives of corporate donors/prospects with Covenant House funding priorities and opportunities.
- Directly solicits donations, including upgrades and multiple year commitments at the $25K+ level.
- Ensures that donors and prospects are stewarded in accordance with organizational recognition program and/or the program identified in the proposal/agreement.
- Recruits, trains, delegates, supervises and manages performance of Associate Manager and Development Officers, students and/or volunteers assigned to them.
Skills & Experience:
- University or college degree, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in major gift fundraising or relationship-based sales experience (corporate social responsibility, cause marketing/sponsorship, sales).
- Proven track record in developing and presenting compelling partnership proposals.
- Demonstrated success in securing multi-year financial gifts from new partners and in upgrading and renewing existing donor commitments.
- Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising/sales targets and deadlines within established budgets.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Raiser’s Edge is beneficial.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
