A growing conservation nonprofit organization seeks an experienced Digital Marketing Manager. 

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) is looking for a hardworking and strategic individual to plan, develop, implement, and manage the overall digital strategy. Using paid and organic content and channel tactics, this role will work to educate the public about conservation priorities, drive online audiences to act, provide guidance on creative projects, and manage advertising campaign budgets. These strategies will be focused on our digital channels, such as our owned websites, social media, email, search, and reporting. The ideal candidate has experience in leading a digital strategy focused on moving consumers through funnel to conversion, has managed projects with contractors, shows initiative and willingness to collaborate with partners, and is eager to further the organization’s work.

This position is based either remote, or hybrid if the candidate is located within commuting distance of one of TRCP’s office locations in Washington, DC; Missoula, MT; or Denver, CO. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and deploy impactful digital marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns that leverage best practices and dynamic new tactics. 

  • Collaborate with the internal staff and vendor partners to manage digital campaigns, using coordinating tactics across channels including but not limited to email, website, social media, advertising, and search. Develop conversion-driven strategies and execute the day-to-day management across all platforms. 

  • Provide input and recommendations on social media strategy and execution, managing a social media coordinator on placement, post content, and budgeting. 

  • Conduct paid media audits and record results of engagement and budgetary spending. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest technology and best practices to advise on digital communications tactics. 

  • Lead our teams in A/B campaign testing to trial new ideas for effectiveness. Incorporate findings to continue to test, learn, ideate, and build. 

  • Proactively manage, identify, and address campaign performance issues and facilitate resolutions to problems when discovered. 

  • Monitor KPIs and set up mechanisms to measure multiple campaigns across many channels. Report campaign results and make recommendations for improvements. 

  • Use analytics and best practices to incorporate search engine optimization (SEO), conversion goals, and optimized user experience into digital content and tactics across all digital channels.  

  • Manage a content calendar with respect to multiple overlapping campaigns. 

  • Collaborate with development and program teams to implement proactive strategies that lead to deeper stakeholder engagement. 

  • Coordinate with the government relations team to advance TRCP’s policy priorities in Congress through paid and earned media. 

  • Coordinate with partners, including by collaborating on social media campaigns and other digital content sharing. 

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES 

  • Three to five years of digital marketing experience. 

  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and creative skills. 

  • Experience creating effective conversion-driven strategies and campaigns that map marketing activities to steps in the user journey/funnel. 

  • Proven success with building, deploying, and managing digital marketing and advertising campaigns across multiple platforms. 

  • Experience using email databases, content management systems, and website publishing platforms. 

  • Fluency with digital analytics, including reach, engagement, and audience growth. 

  • Experience developing growth and engagement campaigns, including SEO optimization, email marketing, and social media strategies. 

  • Experience managing a budget. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Self-starter who can work with a team that is spread out across the country. 

  • Adept at taking initiative, planning, following through, and collaborating with partners. 

  • Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment and pivot to the changing needs of the day. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, WordPress, project management systems, and digital management systems. 

  • Knowledge of fish and wildlife issues is preferred. 

  • Experience working for a nonprofit is a plus. 

  • Enthusiasm for the outdoors, conservation, and/or hunting and fishing is a plus. 

  • This position reports to the Director of Communications.
