Day Camp Badge Coordinator


Hoover Adventure Center is a Girl Scout day camp located in Tully, NY. We run 5 weeks of day camp each summer for girls K-8th grade. At Camp Hoover we  provide a variety of fun, engaging outdoor activities such as shooting sports, STEM, nature, handicraft, swimming, and boating. We support girls as they strive to build courage, confidence, and character. 

What do we look for in our staff?
We’re looking for young people who have a passion for the outdoors and working with children! We want staff who are interested in making meaningful connections with both their co-workers and girls who attend camp. All staff should believe in the Girl Scout mission of “building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place”, as this is at the core of everything we do!

The Badge Coordinator is responsible for designing, planning, and executing lesson plans in various disciplines covering the requirements of the GSUSA badges of the week. The badges cover a variety of topics, mostly outdoors skills and STEM disciplines. The Badge Coordinator also assists with counselor duties as assigned. All applicants must be at least 18 years old and have demonstrable experience in the areas listed above. 

A day at Hoover starts with drop off at 9 a.m and pick up is at 5 p.m., with a brief staff meeting afterwards. Camp runs Monday-Friday and staff go home at night.  A bus from Destiny USA may be available for any staff who need transportation. The Badge Coordinator is require to work an additional week in June. 

Employment runs from June 8th-13th and July 6th- August 15th
