Are you looking for hands-on work experience and a chance to build practical skills in a kitchen environment?

The Safe Café & Catering, a Street Culture Project social enterprise, is hiring two (2) Prep Cook / Dishwashers. Supported by the federal Canada Summer Jobs program, this role is designed for youth who want to learn kitchen basics, build strong work habits, and gain real-world experience in a supportive and structured environment.

No kitchen experience is required. We provide training, coaching, and ongoing support.

What You’ll Do:
  • Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools safely and efficiently
  • Help prepare ingredients and assist with basic food prep tasks
  • Keep kitchen work areas, seating areas, and equipment clean and organized
  • Clear tables and support cleanliness in customer seating areas
  • Restock supplies and help keep storage areas organized
  • Assist kitchen staff during busy periods
  • Learn food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices
  • Support receiving deliveries and rotating stock properly

  • No prior kitchen or food service experience is required.
