Project Manager (Operations)

The National WWII Museum in New Orleans is currently seeking a Project Manager.  The Project Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of special projects at the direction of the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  These projects often include start up initiatives such as new programs, partnerships or events that are significant priorities and require problem solving, initiative, clear communications and attention to detail.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex projects, establishing start initiatives, and managing and leading cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

· Serve as lead staff for planning and coordination of activities surrounding major events and the launch of new products or programs.

o   Develop agendas and lead productive team meetings in design, development, and execution.

o   Work with internal stakeholders for planning, guest mailings, marketing, sponsor deliverables, and event coordination and logistics.

o   Coordinates timelines and vendor proposals.

o   Continue to maintain relationships with event partners.

· Coordinate capital improvement projects through design & budgeting, the bid process, contract review and negotiations, scheduling, communications, permitting, and coordination among museum departments.

·Work internally and with outside counsel to license intellectual property for products and events.

·Support the application process for economic development and grant funding.

·Assist in budget preparation and management of approved budgets including tracking and coding of departmental revenue and expenses.

·Support the EVP with data and analytics and review to ensure sources of revenue and organizational expenses are managed and appropriate to goal and benchmark data.

·Organize and prepare presentations and progress reports for the Museum work team, Executive Team, Board of Trustees, and other key Museum stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree required.

·Minimum of three years of experience in project coordination and management.

·Extensive knowledge of office procedures and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

·Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

·Knowledge of WWII history desired, but not required.

·Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to preform in a collaborative work environment.

·Ability to work on multiple assignments under pressure and to consistently meet deadline schedules.

·Willingness to work irregular hours during special events, evenings, weekends, holidays, special events or during periods of heavy visitation or when required by project deadlines.
