Lead Personal Banker/Relationship Manager

 

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager and is responsible for opening bank accounts and explaining banking services available to prospective and existing customers.  This position is also responsible for overseeing all Personal Bankers within the branch to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the teller line and related functions.  Responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash drawer.  In charge of maintaining and balancing branch vault, which includes cash, coin, negotiable instruments, etc.

 

Essential Functions:

·         Educates customers on procedures pertaining to services such as ordering an ATM or debit card, direct deposit, etc.

·         Obtains and examines documentation needed for opening accounts, renting safe-deposit boxes, etc.

·         Answers customers' questions, and explains available services such as deposit accounts.

·         Refers customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.

·         Opens, maintains and closes accounts.

·         Investigates and refers errors to appropriate bank personnel. 

·         Oversees Personal Bankers and provides input to and may participate in Personal Banker appraisal process

·         Schedules Personal Bankers in order to maintain proper staffing.

·         Coordinates monthly staff meetings for ongoing training.

·         Ensures that each staff member submits work to proof in a neat and orderly manner. Ensures each Personal Banker balances every day.  Provides assistance to locate any differences.  Ensures that all differences are properly initialed and reported to the Branch Manager immediately. 

·         Monitors and controls all detail responsibilities generally performed by Personal Bankers delegating those duties in a manner which will maximize efficiency of the branch.

·         Ensures the appearance of the work stations and personnel are neat, organized and in accordance with Bank policy.

·         Conducts regular unannounced audits of all Personal Banker cash, coin, and official checks, maintaining a written, signed record of each audit, reporting any exceptions to the Branch Manager.

·         Ensures all proof work has been processed and balanced daily. 

·         Oversees proper dual controlled daily opening of the night depository and the processing of the contents therein under dual control.

·         Responsible for the ordering of and shipment of cash.

·         Resolves customer complaints.

·         Follows and complies with all bank regulations and security procedures.

·         Completes all training requirements, including Compliance, in a timely manner.

·         Builds relationships with customers.

·         Ensures and provides quality service to both internal and external customers.

·         Encourages team work.

·         Processes transactions within established policies and procedures.

·         Ability to lift coin bags of varying weight.

·         All other duties assigned.

Experience and Education

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required. Over 1 year of banking (branch) experience required. 2+ years of teller experience preferred
