Senior Manager, People & Culture

Delta, BC Full-time $90000.00-$120000.00/year

We need an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, People & Culture to support our Delta site operations, working closely with the senior leadership team at our Delta site. Purpose of the Senior Manager, People & Culture

  • Role model the mission, vision and values of Rubicon organics, and lead the team to exceed expectations so that all our stakeholders share in the extraordinary value that we create. 
  • Drive the HR strategy and operations of our Delta Greenhouse location in partnership with the VP, People 

Responsibilities 

  • Proven success and well versed with performance management, employee relations, advising & coaching senior leaders, and working within the business. 
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary action. 
  • Network and connect with people, sharing our story and brand with any potential candidates.
  • Recruit the best talent for our current and future needs. Execute a full-cycle recruitment process, providing an amazing candidate experience.
  • Deliver the onboarding process, as well as the performance review process. 
  • Establish and maintain HR policies while ensuring compliance with company values and legal requirements. 
  • Support the immigration process for our temporary foreign workers, benefits administration, people reporting and hourly employee strategy. 
  • Support the Senior Leadership team with initiatives that add to our culture, ensuring an engaged work force. 
  • Ensure team compliance with federal and provincial regulations specific to the cannabis industry. 
  • Any other projects or responsibilities as defined by the VP People. 

Requirements  

  • 7+ years' experience in HR, ideally in a fast paced, start-up environment with at least 3 years' experience managing others 
  • Experience in the cannabis industry is desirable, but not a must 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws and regulations. 
  • Must be comfortable implementing People strategy for the entire site, having difficult conversations. 
  • Innovative and creative in solving problems 
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills 
  • Passionate about company culture and ensuring we have the right employees in place. Must have high standards when it comes to hiring and proven success using a variety of recruitment methods.  
  • Experience in recruiting a variety of roles and partnering closely with hiring managers to land top talent.  
  • Builds strong and trusting relationships, both internally and externally 
  • Able to think high level while carrying out the People strategy but highly organized and detail oriented so as not to forget the small details.  
  • Provides proactive approach to their work. 
  • Experience with implementing processes and increasing efficiency. 
  • Passionate about developing themselves and growing their career into a more senior role.

This position will report to the VP, People and will be based in Delta BC. This is a hybrid role, approximately 3 days in office, 2 days from home.
