Cross Sectional Anatomy Instructor

This is a remote role Part-time $45.00-$60.00/hour
Position Summary

The Cross-Sectional Anatomy Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in sectional anatomy to students enrolled in health science and medical imaging programs. This role focuses on developing students' understanding of human anatomy as visualized through diagnostic medical imaging, emphasizing anatomical relationships, image interpretation, and clinical relevance. The ideal candidate combines strong academic knowledge with effective teaching skills to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

General Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures and instructional content covering cross-sectional anatomy of the human body.
  • Teach students to identify normal anatomical structures, anatomical relationships, and landmarks using diagnostic medical imaging.
  • Integrate clinical applications and common pathological findings into classroom instruction to reinforce diagnostic concepts.
  • Develop and administer examinations, quizzes, practical assessments, and other evaluation methods to measure student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and academic records in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Provide timely feedback, academic guidance, and support to promote student success.
  • Hold regular office hours and respond to student questions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Facilitate laboratory sessions, image review activities, and other instructional experiences as assigned.
  • Utilize the institution's Learning Management System (LMS) and instructional technology to support classroom and online learning.
  • Participate in curriculum development, course revisions, faculty meetings, accreditation activities, and other departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in anatomy, medical imaging, radiologic sciences, sonography, and educational best practices.
  • Foster a professional, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

Education
  • Master's degree in Anatomy, Biology, Radiologic Sciences, Medical Imaging, Sonography, or a closely related health science field required.
Experience
  • Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience in higher education, vocational education, or a clinical training environment preferred.
  • Experience teaching anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, medical imaging, radiography, or sonography courses is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT certification in Radiography or ARDMS credentials preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and its application across diagnostic medical imaging modalities.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems and delivering instruction in both in-person and online learning environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy and diagnostic medical imaging.
  • Strong understanding of normal anatomy, anatomical variants, and common pathological findings.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex anatomical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with educational technology, presentation software, and Learning Management Systems.
