Installation Technician
CubicFarms Langley, BC Commensurate w/ Experience

Position Summary

A CubicFarm Lead Installation Technician has experience in executing the deployment of simple and complex mechanical systems and ensuring that the systems are functioning properly upon installation. This position is responsible for supporting installing all CubicFarms Units.  

The individual is required to have great technical, interpersonal, and project management skills in addition to strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to travel full time throughout the week and be able to work comfortably in a remote environment is a must have.

With this role, significant travel required, weekend travel sometime necessary to be able to arrive on site when required. Further, the individual will have the ability to solve issues that arise on site, as well as experience in a variety of deployment environments and execute based on written and verbal instruction. Further, the individual must be able to adjust plans on the go to adapting to the environmental and infrastructure needs, troubleshooting technical and logistics issues as they arise, as well as maintain our high-quality operations. This person must be extremely detail oriented, with an eye for improving processes and controls in the field and in house as needed. The individual must apply their previous hands on technical/mechanical experience in a fast paced, team-oriented environment, while teaching and training equipment users, and fellow team members.

Education and Experience:

·        2-5 years of experience in a related technical/mechanical/fabrication/installation role required.

·        Experience working in the Ag-Tech or Agriculture Industry is an asset.

·        Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical components

o   Electrical knowledge is an asset

o   Welding and Fabricating knowledge is an asset

·        Trades tickets to support the above is an asset



·        Must be able to analyze and resolve non-routine testing and/or equipment issues using independent judgment. 

·        Must be able to follow and explain detailed instruction and inspection procedures.

·        Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately.

·        Must be able to identify issues outside scope of project and refer to appropriate individuals. 

·        Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time when required and arrive to job site as specified by the Installation Manager.

·        Must be able to work in a fast pace, independent environment and use good judgment. 

·        Ability to lift up to at least 50 pounds of weight constantly to move objects.

·        Ability to review printed materials and demonstrate fine mechanical skills.

·        Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, strippers, crimpers, etc.), power tools, and test equipment.

·        Intermediate math and technical writing skills. 

·        Excellent problem-solving skills, and interpersonal communication skills.

·        Experience with interpreting schematics diagrams. Experience with large scale integration techniques. 

·        Experience with customer support and warranty matters.


  • Attend sites as instructed to carry out installation of CubicFarm Systems Corp Units
  • Ensure work area is clean, tidy and safe at all times. Be responsible for Health and Safety of yourself and site. PPE must be worn always on site without exception.
  • Ensure that the working site is correct as described on the plans sent with the shipment. A thorough check must take place before starting work so that any complications are found before the installation proceeds.
  • Thoroughly check the inventory as delivered on Day 1 for any obvious shortages or damages that may have occurred. This is vital in order for spare items to be shipped to site in time for scheduled finish dates
  • Work the hours required to ensure the job gets done within the set deadlines.
  • Perform all administrative work-related tasks in a timely manner. Ensure all Installation paperwork is completed correctly. Any follow up or snagging issues that need attending to must be recorded on paperwork and reported to the Installation Manager.
  • Make yourself aware of any special instructions or work that needs to be carried out at locations.
  • Attend regular review meetings with the Installation Manager to discuss recurring issues and plan solutions for the future. Feedback your experiences out in the field
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner. Be well always presented and wear the required CubicFarm Systems Corp issued uniform.
  • Be prepared to work with the CubicFarm maintenance department should it be required.
  • Provide feedback to engineering team regarding any ideas / issues
  • Be willing and able to travel when necessary for company operations to run smoothly
