Position Summary:

The Lead Fitness Trainer is the face of the Fitness division of Moonlight Basin Club Membership. This role is responsible for the overall member fitness experience, financial performance, and development of the division as well as contributing to the overall success of the Club Membership department. This individual will oversee building a high-performance team of personal trainers and group instructors at the aquatic and fitness centers.

Position Requirements:

  • Manage daily operations of all fitness facilities including the aquatics center, Lake Lodge Fitness Center and Moonlight Lodge Fitness Center.
  • Responsible for hitting monthly participation targets.  
  • Directly responsible for the division's financial performance in total fitness services.
  • Responsible for the recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and evaluating assigned responsibilities of staff.
  • Manage Personal Trainer staff & expenses.
  • Develop fitness programming including group and private classes.  
  • Establish service goals.
  • Responsible for inventory management.
  • Properly manage operational budget.
  • Responsible for meeting revenue, ordering, inventory, cost controls and facilities maintenance
  • Responds quickly to member concerns or requests.
  • Partners closely with the Club Membership, Kids Programming & Outfitters department ensuring that members are receiving the full benefit of the facilities.
  • Lead and coordinate ongoing events, classes and outreach to members related to fitness facilities.
  • Set performance standards for personal trainers and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Develop product knowledge of all fitness products and equipment.
  • Effectively communicate all department initiatives, standards, and directives.
  • Responsible for ordering new equipment for fitness and aquatic centers.
  • Creates a positive and healthy workplace environment that provides opportunities for advancement for staff.
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining the equipment storage spaces.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the Moonlight Lodge and LakeLodge Fitness Centers.
  • Partners closely with the Maintenance department to ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the locker rooms at both Moonlight Lodge and LakeLodge
  • Attend to all Members and guests utilizing the fitness equipment and ensure they are using it in a safe and proper manner.
  • Conduct daily duties from the Fitness Center.

Physical Requirements:

·        Must be able to instruct and demonstrate all movements in a class

·        Must be able to lift, pull, push more than 50 lbs

·        Must be able to sit for more than two hours a day

·        Must be able to lift and arrange all equipment in the Fitness Centers

Qualifications:

·        Experience in training group and personal training required.

·        Experience programming group fitness and private classes required

·        A related University degree (in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology) or equivalent experience preferred

·        2 years’ experience in the fitness industry preferred.

·        Hospitality experience preferred.

  • Ability to create and sustain a culture of service focused on hospitality, caring, welcoming and fun
  • A passion for fitness. Demonstrated knowledge of fitness equipment and wellness strategies
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Strong MS Office software skills.

·        Current CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment

·        Must have current CPT certification within 60 days of employment. (NASM, NSCA, ACE, ISSA, NFPT)
